an ear for what isn’t conveyed in a pronouncement, just as much as for what is. a knowledge that comes from the push and pull of a primordial experience, reawakened – the relationship with one’s mother and the give and take that this involved, remembered at a visceral level, and now computed through a transcendent understanding to the realm of higher meaning. The give and take – the affirmation and the negation. And what is negated remains at the level of trauma, as that which is specifically traumatic.
