Social Mobility | Clarissa's Blog

I think it had more to do with the propaganda thing though. It was said by resentful British tabloids that people from my culture had simply superimposed themselves at the top of a society unfairly and had no merit for they had not had to work their ways up. That was the image, of a self-aggrandizing group of people without substance. That was false. We had a lot of substance but mostly military substance. In fact even I — I am not so much of a person who could easily enter the intellectual class, because something in me does not resonate well with it. But military mannerisms delight me. It’s really what and who I am.
