shamanism

Don Juan's shamanistic "recapitulation" of everything that happened in the past (in order to affirm it from a superior perspective) IS in fact The Eternal Recurrence (or to be precise, the former serves exactly the same purpose as the eternal recurrence does for Nietzsche).
