The shamanic way of things makes so much sense. It's really a way of choosing to view the world that promotes the highest degree of health. Some weird thing happened: I got stuck into a book I'd bought for academic purposes, which I'd never actually read, and it starkly stated that according to Freud and Lacan, the psyche does NOT wish to heal itself, but to remain sick. I found that amazing. However, I am also sure that a lot of people feel this way, that it is too much trouble to heal their psyches. It's an all or nothing path, and some people just don't feel they're up to it.
