Consumer feminism

Really, there is no more pressing need these days, than that of getting out of a passive mode of behaviour and entering the world in a much more active way.

But it is also a fact that most people would not have the slightest clue how to do this!

Because of this, the Western ideology of identity politics is the disease which will kill feminism, since the more it spreads, the more it divides us up into narrower and narrower categories, to the point where we are back where we started from, with each individual occupying an isolated category all on their own.

The underlying cause of this ideological spread is passivity. One wants the feeling of having an identity that is personal and peculiar to oneself, but without having to work for it. So, one secretly rejoices when a movement is divided, because that seems like an opportunity to come into one's own, by identifying with one of the sub-strands of the movement. At the same time, all one has done is appropriate a label, but without working for it.

Since one has not worked for the label, one does not fully understand it. It would be like purchasing a new electrical gadget. One is interested in what it claims to be able to do, but not in how it actually works. One buys the ideological "gadget" that promises the highest quality of moral superiority with the lowest input of actual effort. Also it must flatter one's already existing image.
