8 - Enneagram Type Eight: The Challenger

8 - Enneagram Type Eight: The Challenger

I'm starting to think this is true about me. I was a type seven once, long ago, but "8" is the structure of mind that I've settled into.

It explains a lot of things. I'm not a pure intellectual (a "5") -- unlike, I suspect, Marechera. I score quite high with that as well, but "5" is also the direction that I take when I am uncertain. (Apparently it is the direction that an "8" goes in when they are weak.) So intellectual self-doubt is my weakness.

By contrast, I go towards "2" -- towards helping and mentoring others -- when I am feeling healthy and strong.
