The kind of life I lead

When I catch sight of the kind of life I lead, it is really quite astonishing.

For instance, if I see myself in the light of what I used to be, let us say the person who was in danger of becoming atrophied at the age of 15, I find a lot of strange occurrences.  Who could imagine I would meet up with and eventually marry someone entirely suited to my character, despite being from a different country and 23 years older than I?  Then there is the strangeness of my work.  Looking at my life from a self-satisfied perspective, rather than one eternally hungry, it provides enough money for me to live on and transposes me into an entire other culture.
