Homeschooling and Today’s Economy | Clarissa's Blog

It’s part of the syndrome of people going their own way. What we really need now (on our parts) is swift and decisive action so that they do not pollute any more of our intellectual waters as they rip apart and go their own way. They are destroying the public education system already with their insistence, “My little Johnny is an innate genius and how dare the big bad teacher give him less than an A?” Entitled people are shouting at those whose thinking is more complex that there is something wrong with what they are doing unless they can bring it down to a primary school level of consciousness. And, we, like great gulumphing idiots, are listening to them because we have such reverence for our overblown ideology of “communication” as society’s panacea that we do not take a stand and realize that all modes of communication have their limits, and with some people we reach these limits sooner than with others. “Communication” needs to grow a backbone for itself and and we need to realize that what is not said and what cannot be said, because there are limits to communicating with all sorts of people, is an irreducible part of what communication is. It’s not for everybody. And it’s not for everybody at all times. We need to cut loose the people who don’t need it, so that they do not destroy the whole.
