The narc has one level of reality only

+Narcissistic web/ Nαρκισσιστικος ιστός haha. Yes, you might be called a narc for joking. Joking relies on a sophisticated theory of knowledge, because a joker, and someone getting a joke, both have to keep in mind that there are two levels of reality at the same time -- one is how things ought to be or how they normally are, and the other is the surprising state of things, which is against what is actually normal. The narcissist does not have these two levels of reality in mnd. To them there is only ever one reality. This is very strange, but I have found it to be true.
Another thing I've noticed with narcs is that they also seem to collapse somebody's real identity with what is happening to them at the moment. They can't separate the individual from causes and effects that impact on them. With a narc, it is never the case of someone getting sick and "having the 'flu". Rather, to the mind of the narc, this person has "become the 'flu." (Their identity and their experience are not separated.)
Over the years I have noticed that this is how one tells a narc from a normal person. A normal person knows that there are always two levels of reality, but a narc always collapses them into one.
