I’ve had Westerners treat me like that too–and to be plain, the assistance I was asking from them was very little indeed, just by way of moral support and if someone could please speak to my father and get him to stop acting out his psychological problems.
I was addressed with the most extreme baby talk and told “by the way, other people have different views on the topic” — as if what I had been presenting was a theoretical proposition or a request for others to accept my views.
Western culture is so fucking immature.
