Generally, though, I find it a bit weird that people are acting intuitively or instinctively to "the stare" My view is that if people had experienced some formal training about what was normal or correct human behavior, their higher training would override their susceptibility to "the stare", at least to some extent. Narcissists' food is created when people are left in a vacuum in which civilized formulations are absent. We used to have ritualized behaviors regarding greeting, hierarchy and other social processes. Now we just have the celebration of "nature" and "naturalness" and of course "my biological drives".
