Sometimes an authoritative === even authoritarian === approach works best. One should demand that men and women be treated equally and then have no tolerance for anything less.  I have argued for this before...that having a soft or permissive approach to social relations causes society to regress, because the easiest thing for anyone to do is to treat women like utilities. A very young child views its mother as a utility and sometimes this attitude does not change even into adulthood.

There is reason to be cautious of an anti-authoritarian approach to life, because it reduces women to mothers.  You can see how school teachers in liberal societies are made over into mothers, whereas in authoritarian societies, they are lieutenants.
