Political gaslighting and narcissistic (post-abuse) closure - YouTube

Political gaslighting and narcissistic (post-abuse) closure - YouTube

You really see the anti-intellectualism come out in statements like: "It's not my job to educate you," and all the assertions they have that you suddenly become the entitled one for asking for a sort of dialogue. But then, when you do educate yourself on all the reasons why they would have a problem with you or your behavior, they're still not happy, because now you've upstaged them by gaining knowledge. It's textbook emotional blackmail: relentless and aggressive guilt-tripping so you submit to their wishes without question.

From my experience, a lot of the arrogance comes out of defensiveness, namely the fact that they're too under-educated themselves to actually engage in some kind of intellectual exchange. Yet, their egos are fed by thinking of themselves as morally superior. Like true narcissists, they don't think they really need to justify themselves.

+Julia Riber Pitt Identity politics is governed by these kinds of behaviors. You articulate it very well.
