Definitely the patriarchal types are getting under my skin today. The sliminess is sometimes distressing in moments where I expect better. The slithering nature of it.... Like, if I were to walk up to a male who has attained certain qualifications in engineering because of his aptitude and effort, and I slyly mutter, "Why do I think engineering it not your thing?" Then I look at him as if just by being me I knew all there was to know about engineering -- after all, it's a woman thing. I really hate the layers of delusion that people engage in, to avoid sitting up and paying attention.
