Vlog 59 Healing

You are touching on a key part in terms of Continental Philosophy, here, because a rigorous form of Christian training will make you take on the guilt of each situation you enter. Two 19th and 20th Century philosophers were grappling with the question as to how Christianity, which is in many ways something extremely negative in their view, can be employed to bring about greater freedom of mind. For Nietzsche, it was the "asccetic ideal" that trains us in a rigorous attitude toward truth, and for Bataille, the training of taking on the guilt had the aspect of being streteched still further, to enable us to take on the burden of guilt in overthrowing the existing system to create a better version of society.
